School Programs
Pennsbury Manor is the only historic
site that relates specifically to William Penn and his impact on
American history. All of our educational programs meet national and
state history standards.

School Tours
Students have a
guided tour of the Manor House and outbuildings, and participate in a
30-minute hands-on-history activity. School tours are given rain or
shine at 10:00 and 11:30 throughout the year. We
can accommodate up to four classes at each time. The tour with
hands-on-history is 1 ½ hours. Reservations are required. The cost is
$6.00 per student and $6.00 per adult. Teachers and staff are
complimentary.

Pre-School
Programs
Our pre-school programs are
designed to meet the developmental needs of young children age four to
six. Children get to experience the past through fun activities in
an historic setting. Individual programs can be tailored to meet
the needs of your group. These programs are available throughout
the year, rain or shine. Registration and pre-payment are required.
The cost is $6.00 per child and $6.00 per adult. Teachers and staff are
complimentary.
Special Event
Days for Schools
On these special
days, visitors move at their own pace as they tour the Manor House and
outbuildings, learn about everyday life in the 17th century,
and participate in activities not available during the regular school
tour. Registration and
pre-payment are required.

Day (April 19, 2012)
10:00 am – 1:00 pm
Write with a quill pen, learn how to do
17th century chores, and welcome spring with a visit to
William Penn’s garden.
$8.00 per student and $8.00 per adult.

Sheep Shearing
(May 3, 2012) 10:00am – 1:00pm
Come watch our sheep get their annual
haircuts, see a puppet show, and meet the animals as you tour Pennsbury
on this entertaining and festive day.

William
Penn Day (May 17, 2012)
10:00am – 1:00pm
Learn more about the important
friendship between William Penn and the Lenape as you trade furs, learn
the Lenape language, and travel back through time to the earliest days
of Penn’s new colony.

PLANNING A FIELD TRIP TO
PENNSBURY MANOR
- Where is Pennsbury Manor?
We are located in Bucks County, on the Delaware River a few miles
north of Philadelphia.
- How do I make a reservation?
Call 215 946-0400, Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- What happens on a school tour?
All students have a tour of the Manor House, the historic area,
and a ½ hour hands-on-history program. The guided part of your
tour is about 1 ½ hours. You are also welcome to explore the grounds
before or after your tour
- Where do I park?
Parking is FREE! We have a large parking lot adjacent to the Visitor
Center for buses and cars.
- Where can I eat lunch?
Our Picnic pavilion is available to you at no extra cost. There are tables
inside and outside, as well as newly remodeled, handicap accessible
restrooms.
- Where can I shop?
A variety of gift items, souvenirs, books, and crafts are available for
sale in our gift shop. Pennsbury Manor goodie bags can also be ordered
prior to your visit. Each bag is $1.00 and contains a postcard, souvenir
pencil, and an arrowhead.
- What happens if it rains?
Please dress for the weather, since our programs take place rain or shine!
