Living History Theater: Phineas Pemberton's Funeral Phineas Pemberton died in 1702. Upon learning of his death, William Penn lamented that the colony had lost "the ablest as well as one of the best men of the Province". Living History Theater:
Witch Trial In 1684, Margaret Mattson, a Swede from Chester, Pennsylvania was accused by her neighbors. The accusation was witchcraft. The trial was so important that William Penn presided over the case. Serve on the jury and decide whether she is guilty or innocent, a decision that would affect the peace of the inhabitants of the new colony.
